PITMASTER PROGRAM
What is a Pitmaster?
The Pitmaster Program is a rewarding experience designed to give select students an A-Z education in barbeque. Pitmasters are taught how to prepare, cook, and serve a variety of meats using multiple methods. In addition, Pitmasters are guided through the ins and outs of hosting barbeque events both at home and for large crowds.
Applications open this fall!
Throughout the duration of the program, Pitmasters are expected to attend meetings which include hands-on lessons, presentations from exclusive guest lecturers, and unique fun activities. Pitmasters will start out the program by working with officers and the Pitmaster Coordinator with preparation for barbeque events with lots of supervision and assistance.
Upon completion of the course, Pitmasters will be experts in preparing the food of our main four events being Brazilian barbeque, pork ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. In addition, pitmasters will also learn important leadership skills while practicing hosting and working as a team. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a custom ABC Pitmaster Apron embroidered with their name to commemorate their achievement.
